Dorothy Claycomb

Dorothy Claycomb of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Roy Walter Sexton and Pearl Elizabeth Dixon Sexton, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 21, 1925.  She died at 2:26 P.M., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Campbellsville.  Age:  85

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She worked in several factories in 1943 to promote the war efforts while waiting on her husband, Conrad, to return home from World War II. 

She worked at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville for over twenty-six years until she retired in 1988. 

She was also a homemaker, a loving wife and mother.

She united in marriage to William Conrad Claycomb September 17, 1943.  

Besides her husband, William Conrad Claycomb, she is survived by three sons and one daughter:  Billy Claycomb and wife, Debbie of Campbellsville, Connie Jo Wright and husband, Bill of Greensburg; Thomas A. Claycomb and wife, Darlene and Jackie Claycomb and wife, Ruth of Harrodsburg; four grandsons:  Ricky Claycomb and wife, Lisa of Campbellsville, Troy Wright and wife, Elizabeth of Greensburg, Scott Claycomb and wife, Heather of Lexington and Jeff Claycomb and wife, Crimson of Harrodsburg; four great-granddaughters; five sisters:  Wilma Jean Farmer and husband, Gerald, Sue Burriss and husband, Jackie L., Jewell Beard and Kaye Harrison of Campbellsville, Linda O. Castillo and husband, Pepi of Birmingham, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Faye Sexton of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Dianne Claycomb in infancy and two brothers and two sisters:  Roy O. “Tom” Sexton, Billy Frank Sexton, Deloris Graham and Geneva Mattingly.

Walter Logan “Corky” ScottIII

Walter Logan “Corky” Scott III of Campbellsville, son of the late Walter Logan Scott Jr. and Mildred Cole Scott Dohoney was born July 8, 1938 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 2:56 A.M., Sunday, May 29, 2011 in Lexington. Age: 72

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He attended Campbellsville College and graduated from Western Kentucky University.

He was the current owner and operator of Scott’s Ladies Apparel having worked in the store for some 58 years.

He united in marriage to Janet Nelson September 22, 1969.

Duluth Glenn Parson of Greensburg, son of the late Edgar Parson and Della Keltner Parson, was born in Adair County, Kentucky, October 25, 1935.  He died at 7:25 P.M., Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in Greensburg.        Age:    75

He was of the Methodist faith.

He served his country honorably in the United States Navy, having retired as a Boiler Technician First Class with the Navy.

He is survived by one sister, Mitchelyn Parson Squires and husband, Floyd of Campbellsville; three nieces and one nephew:  Diane Squires Bruner and husband, Ross of Scottsdale, Arizona, Tammy Squires and husband, Jeff Derringer of Cary, North Carolina, Toni Parson and Terry Parson of Chicago, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Roy L. Parson, Junior Parson and Thomazine Bensheimer.
