Donald Ray “Donnie” Lawson, age 66

Donald Ray “Donnie” Lawson, age 66, of Campbellsville died on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his home after an illness.

Donnie was born in Campbellsville on September 7, 1950, the son of the late William Thomas “Bud” and Edith Mae Walters Lawson.    Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Lawson.       He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam and after an honorable discharge, he worked for Coco-Cola Bottling Company as a route deliveryman until his retirement.     In his spare time, you would find him, coaching Little League, fishing or enjoying sports, especially NASCAR.

He married Erlene DeWitt who survives.  To this union was born one son, Brad Lawson and his wife Misty, and their two daughters, Brooke and Baileigh Lawson of Mayfield, KY.    Also surviving are his brothers, William “Buster” Lawson and his wife Linda of Lebanon Junction, Steve Lawson and his wife Lesa, a sister, Vicki Young and her husband Danny, and a sister-in-law Cathy Lawson, all of Campbellsville.

There will be a graveside service with full military honors by the Marion County Retired Veterans Honor Guard at Lebanon National Cemetery for Donnie Lawson at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.  The family request visitation prior to the service at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Donations are requested to be to the Marion County Retired Veterans Honor Guard and may be made at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
