Post 15 Monthly Activity Report for June

  During the month of June, 2010, there were 33 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

 There were no fatalities during the month of June in the Post 15 area.
 
This brings our yearly fatality count to 8 compared with 24 through this same period in 2009.
State wide fatality count stands at 340 compared with 389 through this same period in 2009.

 During the month of June, 2010, there were 835 citations written, 203 courtesy notices written, 1126 vehicles inspected, 819 complaints answered, 95 motorists assisted, 90 criminal cases opened and 199 criminal arrests made.

Traffic Checkpoints

The Kentucky State Police, Post 15, Columbia, which provides coverage for Washington, Marion, Taylor, Casey, Russell, Green, Metcalfe, Monroe, Clinton, Cumberland and Adair counties will be conducting periodic traffic safety checkpoints at locations approved by the Kentucky State Police Policy and Procedures Manual. These checkpoints will be conducted in an effort to enforce the traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Special attention will be paid to occupant protection (seatbelt adherence), sobriety and insurance and registration violations.

State Property Tax Rate Set at 12.2 Cents for 2010

FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 1, 2010) – The Kentucky Department of Revenue has set the 2010 State Real Property Tax Rate at 12.2 cents per $100 of assessed value.  Kentucky Revised Statute 132.020 requires the Department of Revenue to set the real property rate no later than July 1 of each year.

Campbellsville University soccer to open season with alumni games

The 2010 Campbellsville University soccer season will kick off Aug. 20 with Lady Tiger and Tiger alumni games at Finley Stadium, which will serve as the new home for CU soccer with the addition of synthetic turf and lights.

The Lady Tigers will start the night with an alumni game at 6 p.m. followed by a Tigers alumni game at 8 p.m. Both teams will participate in preseason scrimmages on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 4 and 6 p.m.
