James Willard Newton, age 81, of Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Louisville after an illness.
He was the son of the late George McKinley and Elva Anna Newton. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruby Mayon Newton on August 1, 1997, two sons. James Steven Newton in December , 1973, William Grant Newton, 1960, and one sister Aileen Newton. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.
He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Van Allen & Margaret Newton, Jerry Lyn Newton, Willando & Sonja Newton all of Louisville, and Ricardo Lee & Tanja Newton of Germany, daughter-in-law Joyce Newton of Radcliff, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM, Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Miller Cemetery.
Visitation 5-8 PM, Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home

Jerome Chandler, 72, of North Columbia Avenue in Campbellsville died Monday,September 13, 2010 at Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg.
Son, of the late John Shelby and Betty Buckner Chandler, he was a lifelong member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a sister ,Jean Davis of Savannah, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Mary H. Crafton of Virginia; several nieces and nephews and their spouses, Keith and Sharon Chandler of Campbellsville, Alan Chandler of Nashville, Tenn., Lisa Chandler of Memphis, Tenn., Mike and Sharon Weeks of Alabama, Diane and John Rigsby of Indianapolis, Ind., Jon and Charlene Davis of Illinois, Bruce Davis of Illinois, Steve and Betty Davis of Florida, Jill and Dan Mueller of Illinois and Donna and Major Jay Hansen of Georgia; several great-nieces and nephews, Lindsay Chandler and Laura Chandler, both of Campbellsville, Nick Chandler of Nashville and Shelby Hall, of Texas, Kelly Chandler of Evansville, Sarah Rigsby of Illinois, Abby Bialk of Memphis, Jennifer Slobach of Florida, Cheryl Griffin of Alaska, Aaron, Timothy, Daniel and Rachel Davis, all of Illinois, Danny, Mitch and Myles Mueller, all of Illinois, Brooke, Joshua, Jonah and Sierra Hansen, all of Georgia , and Corey Davis of Missouri; and several great-great nieces and nephews, Lucy Kathleen-Margaret Davis of Missouri, Jacklyn and Mason Chandler of Evansville and Austin Chandler of Evansville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death three brothers, Larry V. Chandler, Robert Chandler and John Shelby Chandler Jr. and one sister Annette Chandler and brother-in-law, Bob Davis.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10AM, Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

William Randy Rakes, Sr, 58, of Sunnyhill Drive, Campbellsville died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Dennis Lawrence and Nellie Mae Rakes. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Richard Rakes, Carl Eugene Rakes and George Lawrence Rakes and Gertrude Rakes.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Sue Rakes of Campbellsville, six sons and daughters-in-law, Steven (Slo-Mo) & Jamie Rakes of Greensburg, Stanley & Katrina Rakes , William Jr. (Syboo) & Cathy Rakes all of Lebanon, Tim Bright of Loretto, Andrew Rakes, Campbellsville, and Danny Dale & Tammy Bright of Bradfordsville, three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Phelps of Liberty, Racheal Rakes & Roberto Ibarra of Lebanon and Megan Rakes of Campbellsville, fourteen grandchildren, four sisters & brothers-in-law, Helena Raikes of Campbellsville, Carolyn and Kenny Roller of Bradfordsville, Martha & Jeffrey McFarland of Liberty and Linda & Ricky Mattingly of Finley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2PM, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Old Liberty Cemetery.

John Gabriel Stone, age 32, of Sheridan Drive, Campbellsville, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Candie Stone of Campbellsville, three sons Cameron Hughes, Wyatt Stone, and Lucas Rush Stone all of Campbellsville, three daughters Julie Stone, Victoria Stone, and Haylie Stone all of Campbellsville, his mother Wanda Stone of Campbellsville, one brother and sister-in-law Jay and Melanie Stone of Hopkinsville, and grandmother Laverne Stone of Campbellsville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM, Monday, August 30, 2010, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Family requests visitation 5-8PM, Sunday August 29, 2010, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Stone children’s fund and may be made at the funeral home.

Edna Lee Burress Herron
Edna Lee Burress Herron, age 90, of Walling Street, Campbellsville, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at her residence after an illness.
She was the daughter of the late Lloyd Clifton and Mary Holly Burress. She was also preceded in death by her husband, L. H. (Lawrence) Herron, one son Randal Herron, one brother Walter Burress and one sister, Lillie Marie Woodrum.
She is survived by one son, Terry Ray Herron of Campbellsville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Beatrice and Vernon Herron of Liberty, Norma Sue and Don Gabehart of Campbellsville, three brothers,
Bobby Burress, Harold Burress and Lester Burress all of Campbellsville, three sisters, ChristineWise, Shirley Chelf and Loretta Gaddis all of Campbellsville.
