Avis Sapp Carby, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Green Sapp and Thelma Mae Rose Sapp, was born February 28, 1930 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 1:45 P.M., Sunday, June 23, 2013 in Campbellsville. Age: 83

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.

She was a retired Lake Cumberland Area Development Field Worker.

She is survived by one son, Kirby Cox and wife, Martha of Campbellsville; two grandsons, John Alan Cox and wife, Beth and Brian David Cox of Campbellsville; two great-grandsons, Andrew Lee Cox and Zachary Thomas Cox; four sisters: Orene Richenburg, Margaret Ann Graybeal and Geneva Bright of Campbellsville and Virgie Suell of Jeffersonville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Thomas Sapp, Clemeth Sapp and Jack Sapp.

VISITATION: 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday

          Mr. James “Jimmie” Dotson, age 72 of Taylor County died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Green County.

          James Dotson was the son of the late John Raymond Dotson and Nancy Ellen Price, he was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Kathryn Marcum Dotson, four brother; Matthew, Monroe, Elba and Paul Dotson and two sisters; Nellie Johnson and Sylvia Price.

          Jimmie enjoyed life on the farm and was a kind and caring brother and uncle.

          He is survived by two sisters and one brother, Estelene Stillwell and Mary Reed both of Campbellsville and Jewell Dotson of Columbia, two step children; Richie Meadows and Teresa Wooldridge both of Russell Springs, twenty-six nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.         

          Services for Jimmie Dotson were conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Zion Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.

James Allen “Petie” Wilson of Campbellsville, son of the late Bruce Allison Wilson and Cynthia Ellen Polly Wilson, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, June 22, 1940.  He died at 10:45 A.M., Friday, June 21, 2013 in Lexington.   

 

 Age:   72

 

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.  

 

He was a former member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 F&AM.

 

He was a retired superintendent for Nally & Gibson Surfacing Company.  

 

He is survived by two daughters:  Nancy Wilson Ferrante and husband, Frank of Campbellsville and Carolyn Wilson Phelps and husband, Gary of Somerset; six grandchildren: Alex Ferrante, Jenna Ferrante, Jacob Ferrante, Spencer Phelps, Garrett Phelps and Jackson Phelps; special friend, Judy Shofner of Campbellsville;

 

several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

 

He was also preceded in death two brothers:  David E. Wilson and Tommy H. Wilson and a foster brother and sister:  Bobby Briscoe and Mattie Briscoe Seeley.
