Charles Thomas “Charlie” Richardson

Charles Thomas “Charlie” Richardson of Campbellsville, son of the late Elmer Elder Richardson and Daisy Bird Berry Richardson, was born September 2, 1939, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 7:24 P.M., Thursday, March 9, 2023 in Campbellsville.    Age:  83

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, Elder, and Clerk of the Cumberland Presbytery.

He was a member of the Campbellsville Gideon Camp.

Charles was an Educator and Administrator.  He began his career teaching English at Cloverport High School. Then he taught at Bardstown Independent for 4 years before returning home where he taught at his alma mater, Campbellsville High School.  He went on to become principal at CHS in 1980.  He retired in 1991 as an Administrator for the district.  Charles loved the Campbellsville School System and Eagle family.

During the summers, his time was spent managing the softball leagues at Miller Park.  Through his collaborative work with others the City/County Softball Park was developed.  During this time, he worked to provide recreational events for the youth and citizens of Taylor County, influenced many and made lifelong friendships.

Charles dearly loved his bride of 59 years, Phylis Kinser Richardson. They were united in marriage on July 12, 1963.

Family was a big part of Charlie’s life, especially his 3 grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Phylis Richardson of Campbellsville, he is survived by two daughters: Lisa Riggs and husband, Kenny and Cheryl Dicken and husband, Mark of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Evan Thomas Riggs of Troy, Ohio, Nathan Orville Riggs of Madison, Wisconsin and Christa Nell Riggs of Campbellsville; one brother, James (Shorty) Richardson and wife, Carlotta of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Charles was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Joe Richardson and Rosa Skaggs.

 

VISITATION: 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville

Carroll Lee Robertson

Carroll Lee Robertson

Carroll Lee Robertson, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Charles Kinser and Vivian Carroll Kinser, was born July 18, 1952 in Fort Knox, KY and departed this life on Thursday, March 09, 2023 at her residence. She was 70 years of age.

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. She had obtained a master’s degree and had been employed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She loved telling stories of younger days, her grandbabies, and coffee talk at the table.

Survivors include six children: Brian Johnson and wife Missy of Greensburg, Julie York and husband Brian of Campbellsville, Amy Dale of Alaska, Barbara Tow and husband Chris of South Dakota, Aaron Curtsinger and wife Jackie and Molly Johnson and husband Joey both of Campbellsville.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and two expectant great-great grandchildren. Her special dog: Lilly Nelson, Special friends Jessica Sullivan and son Walt Selman, Ben and Zoe Locke and son Rowan, Stephanie Super, and Theresa Collings.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Kevin Cave Robertson, one son, Jason Johnson and one brother, Larry Kinser

The funeral service for Carroll Robertson will be Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Family members will officiate.

The family requests visitation on Saturday March 11, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd.  Campbellsville.

Jean Dooley

Jean Dooley of Lexington, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Corbett Abraham Brown and Thelma Hazard Brown, was born January 4, 1930 in Taylor County. She died at 10:19 A.M., Monday, March 6, 2023 in Lexington.    Age: 93

She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, but had recently been attending Fellowship Baptist Church in Versailles.

Jean was a retired healthcare provider.

She united in marriage to Vernon Lee Dooley June 8, 1945, who preceded her in death August 8, 1976.

Jean is survived by two sons:  Terry Lee Dooley and wife, Kathy of Campbellsville and Darrell Dooley and wife, Tiny of Lewisburg; one daughter-in-law, Jane Dooley of Lawrenceburg; nine grandchildren:  Meredith Dooley and husband, James Hite of Louisville, Chris Dooley and wife, Jennifer of Richmond Hill, Georgia, David Dooley of Palm Bay, Florida, Jason Dooley and wife, Jennifer of Smith’s Grove, Tracy Driehaus and husband, Paul of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Joel Dooley and wife, Bethany of Glasgow, Richard Lee Dooley and wife, Melissa of Campbellsville, Damon Dooley and wife, Ashley of Campbellsville and Alicia Logsdon and husband, Wesley of Nancy, Kentucky; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters:  Claudine Gardner of Frankfort, Margie Swears of Campbellsville and Carolyn Pritchard of Finchville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband, Jean was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Dooley; three sisters: Alvina Vincent, Jennifer Sluder and Beulah Mae Wethington and three brothers: Robert Earl Brown, Buddy Brown and Jimmy Brown.
