Lucy Haskins

Mrs. Lucy HaskinsLucy E. Haskins went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 14, 2002. She was born in Adair County to the late John Ike Smith and Eliza Groves Smith. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She loved her church and pastor and servedfaithfully even when she could no longer attend. She married Columbus Haskins in 1934. He preceded her in death May 10, 1995. Eleven children were born to this union: Willie, Lummie (Earl) Webster, Eliza Mable (Jimmy) Tucker, Clem (Yevette), Paul Samuel, Betty Winfrey and Joyce, all of Campbellsville; Sara (James) Davis and Nora of Atlanta, Georgia and Merion of Richmond, Virginia. One son, Charles Jr. preceded herin death in 1964. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren,six great-great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law: Doris and Joe Mitchell, Milton and MattieHaskins, Clarence Johnson, and Sallie Smith, many nieces and nephews, several other relatives and a host of friends.Most folks remember Mrs. Lucy
