Delmar Hayes
Delmar Hayes of Hayes Road, Elkhorn, son of the late Luther Hayes and Catherine Herron Hayes was born August 6, 1922, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 2:50 P.M., Friday, October 4, 2002, in Campbellsville, as the result of an automobile accident.Age: 80He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Stoner Creek United Methodist Church.He was a retired construction worker, truck driver, and farmer.He served honorably during World War II as a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.He united in marriage to Bernice Herron on March 27, 1943. Besides his wife, Bernice Hayes, he is survived by one son and three daughters: Carroll R. Hayes and Vivian Cochran of Elkhorn and Delilah Cruse and Tonya Crain of Buffalo; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one brother: Kenneth Hayes of Elkhorn; several other relatives and many friends.
