Joe Robert Penningon
Joe Robert Pennington of Timothy Trail, Campbellsville, son of the late William Chester Pennington and Nellie E. Cole Pennington, was born in Filber, West Virginia, May 3, 1921. He died at 5:04 P.M., Monday, December 2, 2002, in Campbellsville. Age: 81He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.He was a retired Civil Service employee with the federal government.He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the United States Marines. He was a past master of the Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 FAM and a member of the Pitman Chapter # 157 Order of the Eastern Star.He united in marriage to Kathryn Dean July 18, 1942. She preceded him in death July 26, 1991.He united in marriage to Gladys Deener in 1992.Besides his wife, Gladys Pennington of Timothy Trail, Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Phillip Pennington of Campbellsville; two step-children: Joyce Daugherty and John Shipp of Campbellsville; one grandson, Eric Pennington of Texas; two great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; sixteen step-great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister: Clair Pennington of Liberty, Kirby Pennington of Junction City, Virginia Cochran of Jamestown, Indiana, and Johnnie Pennington of Shelbyville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.He was also preceded in death by one step-daughter, Peggy Shipp and eight brothers and sisters: Vance Pennington, Jessee Pennington, Claxton Pennington, William
