SAMUEL B. CONNER

Samuel B. Conner age 86, of Shawnee Drive, Campbellsville, was born in Knox County, Tennessee, March 20, 1917. He was carried gently on the wings of love to the bosom of Jesus on Thursday, September 4, 2003. He was the son of Granville and Rena Conner who preceded him in death. His only daughter, Wanda Rodgers, preceded him in death, as well as a sister, Beulah Conner and a brother, Lynn G. Conner. He was saved at the age of 9 and called to preach at age 22. He pastored several churches in Tennessee and Kentucky, was chaplain at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital for ten years, and was a clinical psychologist for the remainder of his working career. He has been a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church since 1973. He taught Sunday School and was a Departmental Director for several years before becoming ill. He is a graduate of Carson-Newman College, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Pastoral Care and Murray State University with a degree in Clinical Psychology with Autonomous Functioning to practice independently.He has been a member of the Rotary Club for fifty plus years, receiving the Paul Harris Fellowship Award.
