Velma Shofner
Velma Shofner of Sprowles Ridge Road, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Dee Underwood and Nora Jones Underwood was born May 18, 1925 in Larue County, Kentucky. She died at 1:55 A.M., Tuesday, August 31, 2004 in Campbellsville. Age: 79 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Zion Separate Baptist Church. She united in marriage to John B. Shofner February 14, 1946. He preceded her in death August 13, 1979.She is survived by two daughters and one son and their spouses: Maxine and Garnett Durham, Helen and Larry Sprowles and J. C. and Juanita Shofner all of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Robin Brussell of Elizabethtown, Tracy Cambron, James Sprowles, Barry Sprowles and Johnny Durham all of Campbellsville and Tammy Carter of Stanford; three great-grandchildren: Peyton Cambron, Emily Sprowles and Katelyn Carter; two sisters and two brothers: Mae Murphy of Louisville, Annie Allen and William Eugene Underwood of Hodgenville and John Underwood of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister: Gilbert Underwood, Brown Underwood, Lee Underwood, Tom Underwood and Betty Jane Underwood. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 3, 2004 at the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Bro.
