Sara Barger Coop of Bell Avenue, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ores Barger and Lula Stevenson Barger was born June 18, 1917 in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 3:38 P.M., Sunday, May 15, 2005 in Bowling Green. Age: 87 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church where she served as the volunteer nursery attendant for more than twenty years. She was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson Junior College and Centre College. She taught social studies at Campbellsville High School until her retirement. She served as advisor to the Campbellsville High School Honor Society, which was named in her honor. She was an accomplished bridge player participating in numerous bridge tournaments and events.She united in marriage to Paul J. Coop June 5, 1939. He preceded her in death January 20, 1999. She is survived by one daughter and one son: Anne Murray of Bowling Green and Dr. Richard Howell Coop and his wife, Sharon Scholl Coop of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; five grandchildren: Lee Anne Murray and her husband, Joe Rusnak of Brentwood, Tennessee, Dr. Susan Stevenson Murray and her husband, Mike Temple of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Dr. Kristina Coop Gordon and her husband, Andrew Gordon of Knoxville, Tennessee, Dr. Kelli Coop Dunn and her husband, Steve Dunn of Charlotte, North Carolina and Daniel Paul Coop of Cary, North Carolina; two great-granddaughters: Maggie McBane Gordon and Lucia Nye Gordon of Knoxville, Tennessee: several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.She was also preceded in death by two brothers: C. R. Barger and Larry Barger. FUNERAL SERVICES:10:00 A.M.
