Forest O. Bland

Forest O. Bland of North Columbia Avenue, Campbellsville, son of the late Alonza Bland and Eliza Breeding Bland was born in Iowa, December 5, 1905. He died at 4:10 P.M., Friday, July 1, 2005, in Campbellsville. Age: 99 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He united in marriage to Altha Newton January 27, 1923. They were married for some eighty-two years.Besides his wife, Altha Bland of Campbellsville, he is survived by two daughters and one son: Ruth Meadows and her husband, J. D. of Campbellsville, Frances Shofner of Shively, and Ralph Bland of Valley Station; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren- fifteen great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers: Carrie Carroll, Leo Moorehouse, Mary Bland, Odell Bland, and Owen Bland.
