Mayme Davis, age 90
Mayme Davis, age 90, of Inverness Avenue, Louisville, formerly of Taylor County, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Nortons Audubon Hospital in Louisville.She was preceded in death by her parents, James B. And Janie Morris Thompson, her husband, Rev. Wheeler Davis in 1970, five sisters, Audrey Shofner and Christine Miller, Sadie Beard, Elsie Thompson, Lula Thompson, one brother, Marvin Thompson,and two half brothers, Lester and Henry Thompson and two half sisters, Georgia Murphy and Virgie Nelson.She was a retired seamstress and a member of the Louisville Separate Baptist Church.She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Judy Davis of Louisville, one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Paul Shofner of Louisville, five grandchildren, Bryan, Mark and Kathy Davis, Penny Hester and Rhonda Jewell all of Louisville, three great grandchildren, Jennifer and Sierra Shofner and Andrew Hester. Also surviving is one sister, Lona Skaggs of Campbellsville along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.Funeral services for Mayme Davis will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 4, 2005 at the Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with burial to follow in the Mt.
