J. C. HolmesJ. C. Holmes, age 81, of Ingram Avenue, Campbellsville, died Thursday, January 5, 2006, at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Florence Burton Holmes, one sister, Lucille Roy. He was a retired cab driver.He is survived by four brothers, Edgar Holmes of Columbia, Carl Holmes and Herbert Holmes of Campbellsville, Charles Holmes of Louisville and one sister, Marie Vaughn of Campbellsville along with several neices, nephews and a host of friends.Funeral services for Mr. J.C. Holmes will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 8, 2006, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia.The family request from 5 to 9 P.M. Saturday at Lyon-Dewitt Funeral Home.
