Richard Sublett
Richard A. Sublett of Regency Court, Campbellsville, son of the late Jessie H. Sublett and Minta Thomas Sublett, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky,March 16, 1914. He died at 11:55 A.M., Friday, February 9, 2007, in Campbellsville. Age: 92 He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and held other offices in the church, a member of the Chancel Choir, and served thirty-eight years as District Treasurer of the Campbellsville District. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked at Crabtree Firestone Store for fifteen years and then at First Federal Savings and Loan Association for over twenty-five years, where he retired in 1980. He united in marriage to Frances Sprowles September 6, 1942. She preceded him in death March 1, 2002. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Pirie K. and Kathy Sublett of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; one sister, Helen Brady of Elizabethtown; two sisters-in-law: Hilda Sublett of Campbellsville and Minnie Sublett of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Clayton Sublett, Claude Ray Sublett, Lee Wilcoxen, and Marie Wright.
