Rev. J. V. Mullen, Jr. of Campbellsville, son of the late John V. Mullen, Sr. and Fannie T. Sanford Mullen, was born May 30, 1919, in Logan County, Kentucky. He died at 1:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in Campbellsville. Age: 89 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist. He was ordained into the ministry in 1952 at Dripping Springs Baptist Church in Logan County, Kentucky and pastored for forty-nine years serving churches in Adair, Green, Marion, Taylor and Muhlenberg Counties and Newark, Ohio. He was a former Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue Chaplain. He united in marriage to Hazel Hightower November 4, 1939. She preceded him in death December 4, 2005. He is survived by three daughters: Nancy Mullen Brockman and husband, Donald of Campbellsville, Vivian Mullen Banks and husband, Leonard of Stanford and Peggy Mullen Boulware and husband, Charlie of Plant City, Florida; four grandchildren: William Shoemaker and wife, Tammy of Campbellsville, Lynnette Banks Goss and husband, Billy and Deborah Banks Gibson and husband, Steven of Stanford and John King and wife, Jennifer of Verona; eight great-grandchildren; three nieces; two nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded by four brothers and three sisters: Lawrence Mullen, Jessie Mullen, Herbert Mullen, W. W.
