Vernie Mae Allen
Vernie Mae Allen of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Georgie Richard DeWitt and Mattie Warner DeWitt, was born in Sheffield, Illinois, February 11, 1929. She died at 8:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in Campbellsville. Age: 79 She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. She retired from the Taylor County School System as a custodian. She united in marriage to William L. Allen September 21, 1946. He preceded her in death July 26, 2008. She is survived by one son-in-law, Michael Thompson of Campbellsville; one granddaughter, Tina Yates and husband Ricky of Campbellsville; two great-grandsons: Marcus Ryan Wethington and Troy Allen Wethington of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Reda Thompson January 30, 2003, and two brothers, James Ebert DeWitt November 29, 1992 and Otha DeWitt January 24, 1978. _________________ FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:00 P.M., Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Parrott amp; Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev.
