Charles Allen Shive
Charles A. Shive, age 86, of Miller Road, Campbellsville, died Monday, September 29, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville of complications resulting from a traffic accident, on July 11, in Larue County. He was the son of the late Vernon and Stella Shive. He was married to Christine Frances Williams on July 30, 1946. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2000. Also preceding him in death was one grandchild, Brennan Shive, brothers and sisters, Billy Shive, Bruce Shive, Larry Shive, Maxine Wilkerson, Regina Rose, Catherine Rice and Margie Shaheen. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church and a successful dairy farmer. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles (Butch) and Pam Shive, of Louisville, John Douglas and Cheryl Shive of Campbellsville, two grandchildren John Scott Shive of Lexington and Andrew Logan Shive, of Louisville, brothers and sisters, Fern Carr of Louisville, Gertrude Bennett of Louisville, Rebecca Williams of Campbellsville and Donnie Shive of Hodgenville, special friend, Janel Hamilton of Greensburg. Funeral services for Charles A. Shive will be conducted at 11 AM, Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Rev. Gary Durham and Rev. Jamie Bennett, officiating.
