Oscar Shipp
Oscar Shipp of Campbellsville, son of the late Joseph Samuel Shipp and Georgia Earhart Shipp, was born July 25, 1922, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:40 A.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2009, in Campbellsville. Age: 86 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethel First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired farmer and had also been employed by the Taylor County ASCS Office and the Corp of Engineers. He united in marriage to Virginia Franklin December 24, 1941. Besides his wife, Virginia Shipp, of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and one daughter: Dr. Robert Shipp and wife, Linda K. and Linda Shofner and husband, Bobby of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Scott Shipp and wife, Andrea of Campbellsville, Robert Adam Shipp of Elizabethtown and Samantha Shipp of Louisville; two great-grandchildren: Mason Shipp and Addison Shipp of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Gilbert Shipp and Sylvan Altman and one grandson, Ryan Shipp June 12, 2008.
