Owen Karnes
Owen Karnes of Campbellsville, son of the late Luther Karnes and Lillie Johnson Karnes, was born November 13, 1919, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 12:01 A.M., Sunday, January 18, 2009, in Campbellsville. Age: 89 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a retired employee of Bourbon Cooperage. He united in marriage to Velma Waitman Karnes April 24, 1946. She preceded him in death March 3, 1995. He is survived by one sons and two daughters: Ronnie Karnes and wife, Mabel and Debbie Appleby and husband, Henry of Campbellsville and Carol Bennett of Sevierville, Tennessee; two grandchildren: Amanda Whitaker of Campbellsville and Timmy Harris of Sevierville, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren: Havana Whitaker of Campbellsville, Adam Harris and Megan Harris of Sevierville, Tennessee; one great-great-grandchild, Morgan Harris of Sevierville, Tennessee; two half-brothers: Robert Karnes of Indiana and Malcolm Karnes of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters: Charles Karnes, Richard Karnes, James Karnes, Bill Karnes, Oliver Karnes, Allen Karnes, Bessie Corbin and Pearl Pierce. ________________ FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Parrott amp; Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev.
