Inez Jones, 82, Kokomo, died at 7:13 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Howard Regional Hospital. She was born March 20, 1926 in class=yshortcutsWadsworth, Ohio, the daughter of Luther amp; Maggie Marie (Spires) Knifley. On August 20, 1944 in class=yshortcuts background: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; cursor: hand; border-bottom: #0066cc 1px dashed;Campbellsville, Kentucky, she married Loren Jones who preceded her in death January 4, 1988.
Inez was a 1943 graduate of Knifley class=yshortcutsHigh School, Knifley, Kentucky. She had been employed at Haynes Stellite for several years, but chose to dedicate herself to her family as a wife, mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Judson Road class=yshortcutsChristian Church (formerly Kokomo class=yshortcuts cursor: hand; border-bottom: #0066cc 1px dashed;Church of Christ) for 57 years. She was active in the Joy class=yshortcuts background: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; cursor: hand; border-bottom: medium none;Sunday school class, the Humdingers social group, bible study and had been a Sunday school volunteer and also a member of the church dart ball group. She began Karate lessons when she was 77 and earned 3 belts. Inez was a skilled quilter, having made many many quilts during her lifetime. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert K. amp; Carolyn Sue Jones of Kokomo, her granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Green of class=yshortcuts cursor: hand; border-bottom: #0066cc 1px dashed;Kokomo, Grandson, Glenn James Harrold, Jr. Of class=yshortcuts background: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; cursor: hand; border-bottom: medium none;San Antonio, TX; a son-in-law, Col. Glenn James Harrold, Sr. of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Justine Knifley of Campbellsville, KY; brother-in-law, Coy Davis of Campbellsville, KY; four nephews, Ron (Julie) Knifley, Tony (Beverly) Knifley both of Campbellsville, KY, Scotty (Viola) Ferguson of Columbia, KY, Mike (Donna) Ferguson of class=yshortcutsLawton, Oklahoma; one niece, Jessica (Kenny) Wilkerson of Campbellsville, KY; several great nieces and great nephews; and her very good lifelong friends, Jean Miller amp; Lucille Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Jill Ann Harrold, sister Cleo Davis, brother, Travis Knifley and her special dog, Benji.
In Kokomo, funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Judson Road Christian Church, class=yshortcuts cursor: hand; border-bottom: #0066cc 1px dashed;1995 N – 750 West, Kokomo, with Dr. Gary Carpenter officiating. Friends are invited to call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Shirley amp; Stout Funeral Home, class=yshortcuts cursor: hand; border-bottom: #0066cc 1px dashed;Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
