Howard Whitley, Age 81
Howard Whitley of Campbellsville, son of the late Wesley Whitley and Mae Fergerson Whitley, was born in Akron, Ohio, April 27, 1928. He died at
2:10 P.M., Friday, April 2, 2010 in Campbellsville. Age: 81
He professed faith in Christ and attended St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
He was a retired farmer and a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and was a former administrator of Green River State Resort Park. He was also a Taylor County Court Magistrate for eight years.
He united in marriage to Korine Boston January 21, 1949.
Besides his wife, Korine Whitley of Campbellsville, he is survived by three sons and spouses: Rev. Charles “Lanny” & Diane Whitley and Greg & Gayle Whitley of Campbellsville and Todd Whitley of McComb, Mississippi; seven grandchildren: Sharalyn Whitley, Rebecca & Rev. Dana Lockhart, Melissa Johnson, Ginny & Clint Scott, Megan & John Wilcher, John Whitley & special friend, Kayla Burton, and Zach Whitley; two great-grandchildren: Tyler Scott and Summer Scott; an expected great-granddaughter; two brothers and one sister: Dean & Norma Jean Whitley of Indianapolis, Donald & Gwen Whitley of Elizabethtown, and Charlotte & Odell Callahan of Campbellsville; three sisters-in-law: Elsie Rae Whitley and Lorene Whitley of Campbellsville and Barbara Whitley of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Shay Whitley May 29, 1961 and three brothers: Lewis Whitley, Joe Whitley, and Rev. Jerry Whitley.
