Campbellsville Wrestling Collects Wins at Blue Raider Duals

COLUMBIA, Ky. — Campbellsville University mixed up its lineup from previous duals and picked up a pair of Sunday wins at the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raider Duals over visiting Shorter University and Calumet University.

The Tigers recorded a 21-15 win over new Mid-South Conference member Shorter, as Spencer Adams won a 3-1 decision at 197 pounds to secure the dual, while Scott Wern picked up the 197-pound win against Calumet.

Jarvis Elam and Daphilo Success recorded their first wins of the season in dual action, sweeping the day at 125 and 133 pounds, respectively to start the day. The pair was the only Tigers to wrestle their way to a pair of wins Sunday. With their wins against Calumet, CU took an early 24-6 lead with Calumet forfeits at 141, 174 and 184 and a Tiger forfeit at 157. CU dropped a decision at 139, but secured the dual with a medial forfeit win for Quinten Brooks at 165.

Campbellsville (8-1) will compete in the Midwest Classic Invitational next weekend, Dec. 18-19, in Indianapolis, Ind. The Tigers’ next duals action will be Jan. 8-9 at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
