George L. “Jiggs” White, 86

George L. “Jiggs” White of Campbellsville, son of the late George W. White and Grace Hosmer White, was born in Bell County, Kentucky, March 24, 1925.  He died at 11:29 A.M., Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in Campbellsville.        Age:    86

He professed faith in Christ and is a member of the Soule Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was a retired Navy Chief in Aviation Electronics and was a veteran of World War II and Vietnam, having served his country honorably in the United States Navy.

He united in marriage to Nellie Anne Reid October 5, 1954.  She preceded him in death May 17, 1987.

He united in marriage to Kathryn Hill Gilpin September 15, 1990.  She preceded him in death January 7, 2011.

He is survived by three daughters and one son: Cindy Amick and husband Sonny of Chesapeake, Virginia, Donna White and partner Iva Creech of Wendell, North Carolina, Bonnie Fugere and husband Mike of Norfolk, Virginia, and Doug White and wife Shayne of Gastonia, North Carolina; seven step-children: Sue Clarke and special friend Gary Goodin, Charles “Buddy” Gilpin and fiancee’ Kathy Minor, Kaye Eubank and husband Danny, Leslie Gilpin and wife Peggy, and Shelia Mudd and husband Ricky of Campbellsville, Phillip Gilpin and wife Brenda of Lexington, and Gary Gilpin of South Carolina; twenty grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Douglas White and wife Edna of Campbellsville and Ann White Tucker of Horse Cave; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Hosmer White.
