Elizabeth “Beth” Russell

Elizabeth “Beth” Russell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Thomas Hunt and Ida Ellen Hunt, was born December 1, 1919, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 4:10 P.M., Thursday, June 30, 2011 in Campbellsville.   Age:  91

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church where she served as treasurer for some fifty-nine years, was in the music ministry of the church since sixteen years of age, and a former Sunday School teacher.

She was a retired school teacher with the Taylor County School System.

She united in marriage to Edgar B. Russell May 4, 1951.   He preceded her in death September 18, 1995.

She is survived by her “adopted” children:  Dr. Ed and Sharon Smith of Ft. Myers, Florida; three “adopted” grandchildren:  Joshua Smith and wife, Kaitlyn, Rachel Smith and Hannah Smith of Ft. Myers, Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters:  Gatton Hunt, Ray Hunt, James Hunt, Lyla Parrott, Winnie Hunt, Edna Reynolds, and Sadie Hunt; half-brother, Emory Hunt.
