Charles Walker McBurney

Charles Walker McBurney of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky, son of the late Ralph McBurney and Hazel Powers McBurney, was born in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, June
23, 1924.   He died Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.    Age:  87

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

He was retired from McBurney Associates, an international marketing and management firm specializing in the direct selling industry.  He held an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Alabama and from the Graduate School of journalism at Columbia University in New York City.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of  World War II, serving as a cryptographic
technician in the Pacific Theater.

Besides his wife, Nancy McCulloch McBurney, he is survived by one son and one daughter:  Charles W. McBurney, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida and Michelle McBurney Hanchey of Duluth, Georgia; three nieces and one nephew:  Lisa McBurney Brown of Memphis, Tennessee, Vivian McBurney Wilson of Fairhope, Alabama and Jane McBurney Burris of Nashville, Tennessee and David D. McBurney of Memphis, Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends in the Campbellsville area.

He was preceded in death by two brothers:  George W. McBurney and Robert P. McBurney.

of St. David’s Episcopal Church, Nashville,  Tennessee

BURIAL:                                  Lebanon National Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard
