Isabelle Brockman

Isabelle Brockman of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Norman Clelon Christie and Leander Shewmaker Christie, was born in Marion County, Kentucky, October 16, 1929.  She died peacefully in her sleep at 12:50 A.M., Sunday, April 15, 2012, in Campbellsville.   Age:  82

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She was a retired medical technologist, having enjoyed a full professional career that included various doctor’s offices, Louisville General Hospital, U of L Dental School and Taylor Regional Hospital.
Family, friends and community were a very important part of Isabelle’s life.
She loved her geneology research, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and had served on the Campbellsville Library Board.  She took great joy in weekly bridge club, her golf league, and Friday lunches with “the girls”.  She was an avid reader, loved her daily crossword puzzles, her flower garden, winters in Florida, traveling, shopping, and her idea of a great meal was eating out.
She united in marriage to John Brockman October 17, 1961.  He preceded her in death August 3, 1996.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Gwen and Dave Pyle of Sellersburg, Indiana and Lally and Wayne Jennings of New Braunfels, Texas; two grandsons: Ryan Pyle of Sellersburg, Indiana and John Pyle of Jeffersonville, Indiana; one great-granddaughter, Iris Pyle of Jeffersonville, Indiana; one sister and two brothers: Patricia Smith and Norman Christie and wife, Margaret of Campbellsville and Charles W. Christie and wife, Rita of Hildebran, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Blevins March 10, 1971 and Betty Louvenia Christie in infancy.
