Mayor Tony Young is pleased to announce the Campbellsville City Council has approved the appointment of Kyle Smith as Fire Chief to the Campbellsville Fire Department.  Chief Smith has twenty-six years of fire service experience.  His experience includes five years in the volunteer service and twenty-five years as a career firefighter with the Frankfort Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

Chief Smith is an EMT-Paramedic.  He has worked his way through the ranks of Firefighter, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief and Division Chief with the Training Division. He and his wife Karen are excited about the opportunity to live and work in Campbellsville.  He will assume the duties as Chief in mid October.

Chief Smith is replacing Chief A.J. Johnson who had served the Campbellsville Fire Department for the past thirty-eight years, the last eighteen as Chief and retired at the end of August.
