Freddy Scott “Scotty” Jennings, 78

Mr. Freddy Scott “Scotty” Jennings of Campbellsville passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, September 14, 2017. Born on July 14, 1939 to the late Fred and Elizabeth (Brannock) Jennings, he was 78 years and 2 months of age. Mr. Jennings professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville First Church of God. As a young man, he served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a retired salesman and manager for Key Finance in Campbellsville, a grocery store in Indiana, and Purcell’s Office Supply and Chandler’s Office Supply in Campbellsville. He loved to have fun and was constantly teasing those around him. He took pleasure in watching UK basketball, playing cards, fishing, or working in the yard, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His wife: Aniece Jennings of Campbellsville,

Two daughters: Thea Harden of Campbellsville, and CeeCee Daugerty and husband Mike of Campbellsville,

Four grandchildren: Andrew Gilbert of Campbellsville, Rachael Gilbert of Campbellsville, Amelia Carey and husband Chris of Walton, and Mallory Sluder and husband Anthony of Campbellsville,

Two great-grandchildren: Hunter Sluder and Kaiden Sluder,

Several cousins, including the Parker family and Carl Jennings,

And a host of other friends and relatives.

At the request of Mr. Jennings, cremation was chosen. There will be a memorial service to honor his life on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Evan Tedder will be officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 16, from 12:00 noon until time for the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church Youth Group. Those can be made in person at the funeral home.
