Audrey Edith Barnes Smith

Audrey Edith Barnes Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Barnes and Mattie Harmon Barnes, was born May 30, 1924, in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 1:15 A.M., Saturday, October 14, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 93
While living in the Shiloh community she assisted in Vacation Bible School at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church for several years and enjoyed going to church. She professed faith in Christ and recently attended East Campbellsville Church of God. Outside of farm work and her enjoyment of stripping tobacco Audrey had a skill for making various Ceramic items and operated her own shop. Her love of ceramic was obvious by the dozens of pieces in her home.
Audrey was a former employee of a Defense Plant in Cincinnati and inspected Piston Rings and Parachutes.
She united in marriage to Elwood Lee Smith August 26, 1947 and he preceded her in death December 24, 1984.
She is survived by two sons: Gregory Lee Smith and wife, Betty and Doug Smith of Campbellsville: six grandchildren: Stacy Dempsey of Rineyville, Byron Smith of Clarksville, Indiana, Corey Smith of Lebanon, Benjamin Smith and girlfriend, Rachel Gupton and her two children, Knox and Rylee Beasley of Indiana, Matthew Smith and girlfriend, Julie Kuzlik of Campbellsville and Mark Smith and wife, Nancy of Oak Harbor, Washington; eight great-grandchildren: Alissa Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gavin Dempsey of Rineyville, Cole Smith of Lebanon, Castiel Smith, Ronan Smith, Joleene Smith and Nitto Smith of Oak Harbor, Washington and Adrian Edelen of Campbellsville; two sisters: Marie Gupton of Campbellsville and Alta Adams of Middletown, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Aubra Lyle (Tino) Barnes, Junior Barnes and Ochila Willis.
