William “Bill” Preston, 85

Mr. William Edward “Bill” Preston of Campbellsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington after a brief illness. Born on March 6, 1933 to the late James William and Beatrice (Stinnett) Preston, he was 85 years and 17 days of age. Mr. Preston was a retired realtor and had served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Always a proud and supportive husband and father, he enjoyed being outside gardening and coaching Little League. His bright smile will forever be memorialized in the Facebook and Snapchat accounts he kept up to date.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His wife: Lucy (Yarborough) Preston,

Four children: Alyssa Wiederhoeft and husband Eric of Michigan, Phillip Preston of Lexington, Adam Preston and wife Brittany of Campbellsville, and Benjamin Preston of Campbellsville,

A chosen child: Janet Davis of Shelbyville,

Five grandchildren: Peyton LaFever, Emma LaFever, Ava Wiederhoeft, Greyson Preston, and Avery Preston,

One expectant grandson, William and a host of other family and close friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Preston on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jim Collison will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard., 20 Hwy 208, Lebanon, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 26, from 5:00-7:00 PM.
