Gordon Wesley Doughty, 74
Mr. Gordon Wesley Doughty of the Mannsville community in Taylor County passed from this life on Sunday, June 17, 2018 after an extended illness. Born in Jackson, TN to the late George W. Doughty, Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth (Craig) Wilson on February 6, 1944, he was 74 years, 4 months, and 11 days of age. He was a retiree of the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville, where he had worked as a boiler operator. Mr. Doughty professed faith in Christ and attended the Mannsville United Methodist Church as his health allowed. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and served his country honorably during the Vietnam era.
He leaves to mourn his passing:
His wife: Dolores (Haferkorn) Doughty,
Two stepchildren: David Mikowski and Tina McClellan and husband Gerald, all of Campbellsville,
A former stepdaughter and family friend: Elizabeth Mikowski of Campbellsville,
Five siblings: Jeanine Allen of Tennessee, Jackie Dyer of Louisiana, Charlene Semon of Florida, Michael Wilson of Columbia, and Charles Wilson of Campbellsville,
Eight grandchildren,
Fifteen great-grandchildren,
And a host of other family and close friends.
He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Carl Wilson, and a brother, Claude “Bo” Dugger.
At the request of Mr. Doughty, cremation rites were accorded him by the L.R. Petty Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service and meal to honor his life on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the fellowship hall of the Mannsville United Methodist Church, 179 Bradfordsville Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. John Hall will be officiating.
