Mr. Allen Brown of Campbellsville passed peacefully from this life on Friday, June 21, 2019 in Elizabethtown at the Hardin Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Born on August 11, 1946 to the late Luther and Josie (Lee) Brown, he was 72 years, 10 months, and 10 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mannsville Christian Church. He was a retiree, having worked at the Ingersol-Rand plant and the Fruit of the Loom factory.

Mr. Brown enjoyed being around cars. He loved watching NASCAR, and was a meticulous detailer, but he had a passion above that – UK basketball. He watched every game he possibly could, and kept up with the team activities during the offseason. Perhaps the only thing he loved more than the Wildcats was his precious wife, Mary.

Along with his companion and soulmate, Mrs. Mary Ann (Benningfield) Brown, he leaves to cherish his memory:

Four siblings: Margaret Andrews of Jamestown, Pearl Perkins of Greensburg, Ruby Wright and husband Tommy of Campbellsville, and Tommie Brown of Richmond,

Special friends: Kim Osbourn, and Ashley & Dell Gribbins, all of Campbellsville,

And a host of extended family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by six siblings: Willie Lee, James Brown, Elmer Brown, Ernest Brown, Frank Brown, and Flora Mae Westmoreland.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Brown on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM EST (10:00 AM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. David Brown will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church Cemetery, 9259 Old Lebanon Rd, Campbellsville, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 23, from 4:00-8:00 PM EST (3:00-7:00 PM CST).
