Freddy Carter, 71

Freddy Lee Carter, of Hodgenville, the son of the late Sidney L. Carter and Lura Atwell Carter Peace, was born October 26, 1949 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 6:03 P.M. in Louisville at the Kindred Hospital with James and Darlene Peace by his side. He was 71 years of age.

Freddy was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army and later became a cook at Fort Knox for many years.

He had a big heart; he loved helping others. He was regularly seen with a cup of coffee and a cigarette. He will be missed by many.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father: James R. Peace, three brothers: Jerry W. Peace, Hugh C. Carter and Tommy A. Carter and two sisters: Betty Alice Carter Page and Janet Carter Martin Edwards.

Freddy is survived by three brothers: James Peace, Jr and wife Darlene of Elizabethtown, James H. Carter and wife Nancy and Robert U. Peace all of Hodgenville; a sister: Shirley Carter Warren and husband Mitchell of Louisville and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Freddy Lee Carter will be conducted Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial to follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery at Buffalo. Bro. Roger Bland will be officiating.

Family requests visitation 2:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
