Rebecca Lyon Colvin of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Earl Lyon and Sally Bartley Lyon was born August 18, 1949 in Glasgow, Kentucky. She died at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in Campbellsville after her valiant struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Age: 72
Becky accepted Jesus as her Savior early in life and was an active member at Palestine Baptist Church.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Campbellsville College and Master of Arts from Western Kentucky University and retired after teaching English and Spanish for thirty years at Campbellsville High School.
Becky enjoyed crafting, sewing, baking and watching her grandchildren. She had much rather be doing outdoor chores than housekeeping; mowing, weed eating and taking care of her flowers were her methods of de-stressing after a day of teaching. She also helped Larry with milking before going to school.
Becky united in marriage to Larry Colvin August 7, 1970. Besides her husband, Larry Colvin of Campbellsville, she is survived by two sons: Robert Colvin of Campbellsville and Richard Lyon Colvin and wife, Monica of Sonora; seven grandchildren: Karmon Colvin, Les Colvin, Lee Colvin, Landon Colvin, Levi Austin, Cody Napper and wife, Mikaela, and Kobe Colvin; one sister, Nancy Lyon Moss and husband, David of Tompkinsville; three sisters-in-law: Arlene Lynch of Campbellsville and Faye Kuegel and Dianne Colvin of Owensboro, one brother-in-law, Donald Colvin of Murrel’s Inlet, South Carolina; a host of Monroe County cousins and many other relatives and friends.
