Elizabeth “Diane” Murphy Bland
Elizabeth “Diane” Murphy Bland, age 71, of Campbellsville, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025 at home surrounded by family. She was born on November 29, 1953 at Rosary Hospital in Campbellsville, to the late James “Bill” Murphy and Ella Frances Cull Murphy.
Diane married Richard “Ricky” Bland of Calvary on March 11, 1972 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was a faithful member of the church until her death.
She was a loving mother to Christie Metcalf (Brad) of Bardstown and Laura Gupton (Lee) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Grandmother to Katlynn Metcalf, Morgan and Evan Gupton.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Thomas (Bernard) of Calvary, Betty Burris (Danny) of Russell Springs and one brother, Billy Murphy of Campbellsville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Morris (Jimmy). She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Diane graduated from Taylor County High School in 1971. She worked at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. Diane graduated from Campbellsville University in 2000. She worked in the Medical Records Department of Taylor Regional Hospital for 19 years. Most importantly, Diane’s life was rich with love and devotion centered around her family.
