Jackie Andrew Wethington

Jackie Andrew Wethington of Columbia, the son of the late James Herman (Jig) and Mellie Wethington, was born in Casey County on April 5, 1949, and departed this life on May 12, 2025, at his home. He was 76 years of age.

He professed faith in Christ and was of the Church of God Faith. He was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom, a farmer, and a custodian for the Adair County Schools. He enjoyed tinkering, tending his cattle, his tractor, and a good argument. He was a very selfless man and put the needs of others above his own, and was loved by everyone.

He united in marriage to Joyce Renee Wethington in 1971, and she preceded him in death in 2000. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, William Otho Wethington, James Edward Wethington, and Becky Lovett, and two siblings in infancy: Barbara Wethington and Joseph Wethington.

In 2002, he united in marriage to Shelia Diane Wethington, who survives.

Also surviving are four children: Cecelia “CC” Wethington, Rebecca Bricken (Randy Jr.), Earl Rodgers (Regina), and Rebecca Walker (Sean), all of Campbellsville. 7 grandchildren: Samantha Rodgers (Alan), and Emily Rodgers of New York, Kyle Rainwater (Nicole), Jeremy Rainwater (Brylee) of Campbellsville, Benjamin Walker (Claire) of Horse Cave, Patrick Walker of Campbellsville, and Coty Bricken (Hope) of Burlington, KY, and 3 great-grandchildren: Eleanor Rainwater, Calab Rainwater, and Beau Rainwater.

Also surviving are two sisters: Ann Holmes (Junior) of Adair County and Eula Buck of Campbellsville, and a special and dedicated friend, Amanda Celis.

The funeral service for Jackie Andrew Wethington will be at 2:00 P.M.  Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Liberty.

Rev. Evan Tedder will officiate.

The family requests visitation on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
