Vaughn (Mike) Boyd

Vaughn (Mike) Boyd, 79, of Campbellsville, Ky beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on June 10, 2025.  Born on April 20, 1946 to Robert James and Virginia Ilene Boyd (nee Hendy) in Mt Clemens, MI.

Mike was well known and loved for his sense of humor and being “Big Mike”, the guy that made friends wherever he went, and helped anyone who needed it.

Mike served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966, proudly serving his country in Germany during Vietnam. Upon discharge, he returned home courted and married his loving, devoted and dedicated wife of 57 years, Sandra Kay Boyd (nee Johnson) on October 28, 1967 in New Baltimore, MI at First Baptist Church. Mike made a life for and built a family with Sandra by working at and retiring from Ford Motor Company. Above all else Mike loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Boyd, his daughter De Shawna Kay Laney (Steve), his grandsons:  Nicholas Vaughn, Connor Paul Boden and Jacob William Laney, his brothers Robert Archie Boyd (Sandee) and Eugene Jacob Boyd (Pamela), and many cherished nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Mike is predeceased by his parents, Robert J. and Virginia I. Boyd, his brothers:  Jack W. Boyd, Peter J. Boyd and a sister, Bonnie J. Wolfbauer (nee Boyd).

Mike will be remembered for his love for life, his laughter, his jokes, and how he loved to tease.  He will be missed terribly but his memory will be forever held close.  We love you Big Mike, a bushel and a peck…
