James “Jimmy” Garner
James “Jimmy” Garner of Campbellsville, the son of the late Hobert and Anna Lois Garner, was born May 10, 1946, in Russell County, KY, and departed this life on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was 79 years of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville First Church of God and was a former employee of Parker-Kalon in Campbellsville, and a Veteran of the United States Army.
Jimmy enjoyed restoring old cars and helping many people in the community, and he never met a stranger.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings: Janice Long, Danny “Red” Garner, Adrian Garner, and Walter Garner.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Roberts) Garner of Campbellsville; his children: Gina Wilber of South Carolina, Stephanie Garner, Jennifer Garner, and Crystal Benningfield and husband Joey, all of Campbellsville.
Two brothers and a sister: Junior Garner and wife Hilda, Leon Garner, all of Campbellsville, and Yvonne Taylor of Frankfort.
His grandchildren: Jamie Frost and husband Billy, Gracie, Alyssa, and Baylee Benningfield, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
FUNERAL: Saturday, January 3, 202,6 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
INTERMENT: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens
MILITARY HONORS: Marion County Veterans Honor Guard
VISITATION: after 12:00 P.M. on Saturday
MEMORIALS: Donations to the Campbellsville Food Bank, which can be made at the funeral home.




I Loved Jimmy Garner! He lit up a room and was such a joy! I still have a couple of his jokes I like to tell! I know Heaven is rejoicing at his homecoming! Prayers for his family and friends!
