Mary Katherine Underwood
Mary Katherine Underwood, 90, of Campbellsville, KY, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was the daughter of the late John Dennis and Flossie Angela Read Hudson.
“Mary K” was the wife of the late Rollin “Gene” Underwood, where they lived in their birthplace of Taylor County for the last 25 years. She and Gene enjoyed many years of travel, visiting family, and attending gospel singings and revivals.
In years prior, she lived in Cecilia and Elizabethtown, where she sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry, Tupperware, Stanley and Ecoquest products, as well as working for Horner Rauch Optical.
Always a dedicated Southern Baptist, she was a past member of Cecilia and Franklin Crossroads. She was currently a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mary K was passionate about spreading the gospel, her flower gardens, and watching Kentucky Basketball with Gene.
Mary K and Gene shared 4 daughters: Debbie Craft, Anita Katherine Watts, Linda Stuteville, Julie Hudson Curtis, and 1 son, Ron Underwood. Blessed with 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, she treasured them and her many nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors. Her beloved sister, Gladys Jones and a special sister-in-law, Naomi Hoepner, survive her, as well.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Omer, Melvin and Tom Hudson. Also by her sisters, Thelma Giles, Geneva Milby, Marguerite Parrott, and Lottie Philpott.
