Rachel (Penn) Hubbard Crowe

September 27, 1932 – February 13, 2026

Rachel Hubbard Crowe, 93, was a native of Taylor County, Kentucky.  Rachel passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas on February 13, 2026.

Rachel was a 1951 graduate of Campbellsville High School and attended many of her class reunions until her health prohibited it.  She maintained life-long friendships with many of her classmates.

Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Huston Crowe; father, Owen Walker Hubbard; mother, Ella Dudgeon Hubbard; brothers, Herman Hubbard and Julian Hubbard.  She is survived by her daughter, Cretia Crowe Ridderikhoff (David) of Enola, Arkansas; sons, Barry Huston Crowe (Vanda) of Madison, Mississippi and Charles Walker Crowe (Teresa) of Terry, Mississippi. Rachel had two grandsons and a great granddaughter: Charles Everett Crowe, Blake Huston Crowe (Ashlei) and Alley Jolyn Crowe. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rachel had great pride in having been an AKC show dog breeder for over 30 years of French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers and Doberman Pinschers.  She bred many champions and was widely acknowledged for her dogs, knowledge of pedigrees and breeding.  She loved going to dog shows and was always willing to help others and mentored many people in her breeds.  Some of the friends she made while showing and breeding dogs were lifelong and she cherished each one. She never stopped talking about her love for her dogs, but she also was known to take in any stray cat or dog who needed a home.  Her love for animals was bottomless.

In her later years, Rachel became very interested in genealogy and spent countless hours researching and studying her family tree.  She also had a great love for politics and was a lifelong Republican.  She had a special interest in getting the elder abuse laws passed in Kentucky. Rachel was a huge fan of Rush Limbaugh and listened to his program daily.  She was very proud to be a Republican and an American.

A special thank you to Moore Funeral Home, Cabot, Arkansas for her transport back home to Kentucky and Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home for all the arrangements.
