Rev. Gene Arthur Weddle
Rev. Gene Arthur Weddle, of Campbellsville, the son of the late Carl and Bobbie (Chaney) Weddle, was born November 11, 1934 in Somerset, KY and departed this life on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 91 years of age.
He was a retired Methodist Minister in the Kentucky Annual Conference.
Gene enjoyed watching the UK Wildcats, watching movies, and cherished his Viper Indy 500 pace car, taking cruises with his wife, spending time with family and friends, but most of all was his dedication to the Lord.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife: Mary Weddle, who preceded him in death on March 29, 2002.
Survivors include his wife: Rev. Carol (Gruner) Weddle of Campbellsville, a son: David Owen Weddle and wife Sue of Montana; his step-children: Laura Dicken and husband Richard of Campbellsville and Jill Davis and husband Michael of Lexington.
Also a sister: Ann Cassada of Danville; four grandchildren: Abbie Dicken of Campbellsville, Mackenzie Davis of Lexington, Jake Dicken and wife Julianna of Oak Grove, Levi Dicken and fiancé McKenzie Dixon of Campbellsville; his dog: Cooper and a host of other relatives and friends.
FUNERAL: Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1:00 P.M.
Campbellsville First Methodist Church.
OFFICIATING: Rev. Terry Swan and Rev. J. Paul Dicken.
INTERMENT: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens
VISITATION: Saturday after 11:00 A.M. until time for the service at the church.
L.R. Petty Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
MEMORIALS: Antioch Methodist Church Fund or Hosparus, both can be made at the funeral home or at the church on Saturday.
