James Horace Cox, Sr. Mr. James Horace Cox, Sr., age 69, of Reids Chapel Road, Campbellsville, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Four Courts Senior Center in Louisville after an illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Nancy Elizabeth Tucker Cox of Taylor County. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Christina Cox, two brothers, William and Jay Cox and two sisters, Myrtle Bright and Mary Thompson. Mr. Cox was a carpenter. Mr. Cox is survived by tow sons and daughter-in-law and one daughter, Clint and Jessie Cox, James H. Cox Jr., and Creola Crystal Cox all of Nevada. Four grandchildren also survive along with two brothers and three sisters, Howard Cox of Louisville, Norman Cox of Merrimac, Flossie Taylor of Lebanon, Edna Cox of Louisville and Creola Biggs of Columbia. Funeral services for Mr. James Horace Cox, Sr., were held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 4, 2008, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel. Brother James Durham officiated.

Franklin Garlen Skaggs, 82, of Taylors Chapel Rd, Campbellsville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greenburg after an illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Nora Ethel DeSpain Skaggs, his spouse, Nellie Louise Skaggs, brothers and sisters, Boyce Skaggs, Brown Skaggs, Ann Lee, Mattie Bell and Effie Skaggs. He is survived by three daughters, Linda Thompson of Greensburg, Juanita Nelson and Teresa Smith both of Campbellsville, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephew and host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Taylors Chapel Church Cemetery. Bro Twyman Davis and Bro. Mark Price, officiating. Myrtle Ann Perkins, age 82, of Robinson Ridge Road of Knifley died Monday, April 28, at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia. She was the daughter of the late Ethley and Lora Ann Jones Overstreet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard in March, 1994. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Elba Obal and Howard Overstreet. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Anna Perkins, Jody and Sharon Perkins, Johnny and Donna Perkins all of Knifley, two daughters and son-in-law, Evelyn Bentley of Campbellsville and Barbara and Roy Lockridge of Knifley, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one brother, Early Overstreet of Louisville, two sisters, Sally Ruth Overstreet of Knifley and Alma Parker of Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Robinson Ridge Cemetery. Bro. Raymond Atwood, officaiting.
