James Ralph Miller 73
James R. Miller was born October 17, 1934 to the late Tobe and Laura Carter
Miller. At an early age, he was baptized into the Second Baptist Church
Family of Greensburg.
Growing up James was educated through the Green County School System
and graduated from Lincoln Ridge, Shelby County. He joined the US Navy
and received an honorable discharge after serving four years. After being
discharged he returned to Chicago, Illinois and resumed his former job with
the Curtis Candy Company, as a machinist. He was elected and served as
Union Chief Steward of the Curtis Candy Company. He retired in 1999.
He was a kind, quiet, loving and generous person. He attended the First
Baptist Church of Bellewood. He had a compassion for the poor and needy.
His ministry was giving clothing and help to the underprivileged
.
On July 22, 2007, James found his path to Glory at the rich age of 73. He
will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and a brother, Charles
W. Miller.

Jessie Clark Cotton of Bowling Green, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Curtis Parsons and Montrey Moss Parsons, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, on February 22, 1922. She died at 8:06 A.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2007, in Bowling Green.
Age: 85
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church.
She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She united in marriage to Huston Clark who preceded her in death.
She united in marriage to Albert Cotton who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter and one son: Joyce Hobbs and husband, Hal, of Bowling Green and Charles Clark and wife, Shirley of Russell Springs; three stepsons, Thomas Cotton and wife, Jan, William Cotton and wife, Barbara, and Terry Cotton, all of Indiana; four grandchildren; Tyler Hobbs of Bowling Green and Chris Rzad, Kevin Clark, and Stephen Clark of Russell Springs; five great-grandchildren: Katie Rzad, Logan Clark, Devin Clark, Enrique Clark, and Victoria Baker of Russell Springs; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers: Pearl McFall, Lillian Parsons, Mabel Witham, Herbert Parsons, Ralph Parsons, Harlan Parsons, and Stanley Parsons.

Syndal Underwood of Campbellsville, son of the late Bennie Underwood and Lula Bloyd Underwood, was born March 20, 1925, in Taylor County. He died at 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 24, 2007, in Campbellsville. Age: 82
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church.
He was a retired farmer.
He united in marriage to Edith Skaggs Underwood in February of 1955.
Besides his wife, Edith, of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons: Mickey Underwood and wife, Marcia, and Mark Underwood and wife, Melinda, of Campbellsville; one grandson, Ruger Underwood, of Campbellsville, and one sister-in-law, Gay Underwood, and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Ray Underwood, on November 11, 2004.

Geneva Evelyn Dickens, age 74, of Kentucky Avenue, Campbellsville, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Medco Nursing Home after an illness.
She was the daughter of the late Fielden and Dora Unis Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Dickens, two brothers, Arval and Almar Perkins, and two sisters, Ora Bryant and Lorene Claywell.
She is survived by three sons, Doug Dickens of Louisville, Larry Dickens and Timmy Dickens of Campbellsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Ron Washburn of Irvington, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Ralph Burress, age 70, of Burress Hollow Road, Elkhorn, died Saturday at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.
He was the son of the late Virgil Burress.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Burress of Elkhorn, two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Brenda Brockman and Michael and Kim Brockman of Campbellsville, six daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki Taylor of Louisville, Debbie Burress, Kathy Burress, Cathy and Don Routt, Tammy and Terry Caldwell, Lynn and Ryan Knifley all of Campbellsville, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, his mother, Elizabeth Burress of Campbellsville, one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Joann Burress of Mannsville, one sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Gary Spurling of Elkhorn.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home with Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
