Hershel Stearman

Hershel Stearman of Lone Valley Road, Campbellsville, son of the late Robert Stearman and Anna Liza Penick Stearman was born January 25, 1922, in Green County, Kentucky. He died at 6:18 A.M., Friday, February 18, 2005, in Campbellsville. Age: 83 He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps and receiving the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He retired from Fruit of The Loom after many years service. During his retirement he enjoyed gardening and fishing. He united in marriage to Betty Thrasher January 18, 1947.Besides his wife, Betty Stearman of Lone Valley Road, Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and their spouses: Wayne and Louise Stearman and Barry and Debbie Stearman of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Jason Stearman, Trina Davis, Kelli Allen and Tori Stearman of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Austin Stearman, Dylan Davis and Chelsea Davis of Campbellsville; one step-great-grandson: Austin Davis of Campbellsville; one sister: Beatrice Rose of Plainfield, Indiana; several nieces and nephews many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Allen Stearman on November 25, 1967 and two brothers and one sister: Velma Hall, Jack Stearman and Francis Stearman. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Parrott Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. Gary Durham BURIAL: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. PALLBEARERS: J. R. Brockman, age 82 of Crescent Hill, died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital after an illness.She was the daughter of the late Buddy and Ada Rucker Allen of Green County. She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Brockman.
