Lena Mae Bowles of Butler Drive, Lawrenceburg, formerly of the Spurlington Community, daughter of the late Fulton Netherland and Cordie Newton Netherland, was born January 8, 1921 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 1:25 A.M., Sunday, June 6, 2004 in Lawrenceburg. Age: 83 She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.She united in marriage to Hayden Bowles Jr. September 6, 1941. He preceded her in death March 6, 2003. She is survived by three daughters and one son and their spouses: Ann Hayden Harden of Lexington, Kathy and Sidney Atwater of Tampa, Florida, Jackie and Mark Immel of Savannah, Georgia, and David and Treva Bowles of Lawrenceburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives friends. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amy Atwater, five brothers and two sisters: Raymond Ambrose Netherland, James Netherland, Robert Netherland, Edwin Netherland, Jack Netherland, Barbara Ellen Netherland, and Kathleen Netherland. Gene Smothers of Crescent Hill Manor, Campbellsville, son of the late George Smothers and Myrtle Beldon Smothers was born March 23, 1936, in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 5:20 P.M., Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in Campbellsville. Age: 68 He is survived by three daughters: Glenda Walston and Norma Shepperson of Lebanon and Paula Walston of Bradfordsville; four grandchildren: Carla Jo Walston and Holly Shepperson of Lebanon, Patrick Walston and Nicholas Walston of Bradfordsville; one brother and two sisters: Denny Smothers of Elizabethtown, Catherine Sandusky of Louisville, and Mabel Wise of Campbellsville; a special friend, Anna Brockman of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Smothers and Donald Smothers. Lou Jones Lobb of Robinson Avenue, Campbellsville, daughter of the lateCleveland Herron and Mary Elizabeth Cabble Herron was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, May 24, 1918. She died at 5:18 P.M., Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in Campbellsville. Age: 86 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She united in marriage to Mr. Ruby Jones December 23, 1937. He preceded her in death September 21, 1974. She united in marriage to Mr. Ulys Lobb May, 1977. He preceded her in death August 15, 1998. She is survived by one son, Lonnie A. Jones and wife Joan of Mannsville; one daughter-in-law, Dot Jones of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Jeffrey Allen Jones of Mannsville, Leslie Jones Vance and Deanna Lynn Darst of Lebanon, and Kenneth Ray Jones, Jr. of Campbellsville; nine great-grandchildren: Caren Elizabeth Jones of Babylon, Iraq, Jay Allen Jones of Mannsville, Zachary Aaron Jones, Isabella Darst, Andrew Darst, Danielle Darst and Jessie Reagan Vance of Lebanon, Westin Matthew Vance and Trevor Michael Vance of Magnolia; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. Mary Watson of South Columbia Avenue, Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late George Anderson and Frances Tomlinson Anderson, was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky, August 4, 1919. She died at 11:45 P.M., Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Campbellsville. Age: 84She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was a faithful member and worker in church nurseries for over forty years. She united in marriage to Harold F. Watson October 5, 1946. He preceded her in death May 17, 1975. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands: Cassie and Tom Miller of Danvers, Massachusetts, Katy and Mike Kiger of Campbellsville, and Nina and Mike McClure of Buford, Georgia; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
