Gertrude Coffey of Warren Place, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Charlie Wright and Effie Rakes Wright was born in Marion County, Kentucky, August 21, 1907. She died at 11:55 A.M. Thursday, December 18, 2003, in Campbellsville. Age: 96 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church. She united in marriage to Paul Coffey March 19, 1928. He preceded her in death November 30, 1986. She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Jean and Woodruff L. Newton of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian K. Newton September 3, 1999; two sisters and four brothers. Billy Joe Salsman of Autumn Drive, Campbellsville son of the late Henry J. Salsman and Agnes Matherly Salsman was born in Green County, Kentucky, October 28, 1936. He died at 10:35 A.M. Thursday, December 18, 2003, in Louisville. Age: 67As a young boy, Billy publicly professed faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He retired as Park Manager for Green River Reservoir U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2001. He united in marriage to Marilyn Wilcox December 31, 1962. Besides his wife Marilyn Salsman of Autumn Drive, Campbellsville he is survived by three sons and their spouses: Steven Joseph Salsman and wife Brenda of Camp Zama, Japan, David Christopher Salsman and wife Jennifer of Wilmore, Kentucky, and John Mark Salsman and wife Stephanie of Lexington; six grandchildren: Joshua Steven Salsman and Rachel Grace Salsman of Japan, Zachary David Salsman, Jacob Christopher Salsman, Timothy Davis Salsman and Michael Dawson Salsman of Wilmore, Kentucky; two brothers: Thomas Eugene Salsman and wife Betty of Richmond and Melvin R. Salsman and wife Barbara of Louisville; his mother-in-law, Ruby Close Wilcox of Hodgenville; a sister-in-law, Frances R. Salsman; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
