Elizabelle Jeanie Bailey, age 79, of Cristland Road, Louisville, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at the Caritas Medical Center in Louisville, after an illness. She was the daughter of Mrs. Perna Davenport of Greensburg, Kentucky. Mrs. Bailey was a retired employee of the Bellsouth phone company in Louisville and was preceded in death by two sons, Jackie L. Bailey and Jerry Dale Bailey and one brother, Hubert Davenport. Besides her mother, Perna Davenport, Mrs. Bailey is survived by three grandchildren, Tim Bailey of Decatur, Alabama, Pam Cole ofHuntsville, Alabama, and Bryan Bailey of Louisville, and three great-grandchildren. Several other relatives also survive along with ahost of friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabelle Jeanie Bailey were held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday,March 6, 2002, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Macedonia Cemetery in Green County. Reverend John Batcher officiated.

JOE W. MITCHELL, age 76, of Vintage Lane, Campbellsville, son of the late Selby Mitchell and Catherine White Mitchell, was born in Green County, Kentucky, July 20, 1925. He died at 3:25 A.M., Monday, March 4, 2002, in Campbellsville. He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the United States Navy. He united in marriage to Hazel Keltner January 27, 1946. Besides his wife, Hazel Mitchell of Vintage Lane, Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and two sons and spouses: Vickie Terry Gray of Campbellsville, Bradley Donna Mitchell of Greensburg, and Terry Sharon Mitchell of Marshall, Texas; eight grandchildren: Mallory Mitchell, Terrance Mitchell, and Meredith Mitchell of Marshall, Texas, Mandy Magers and Jordan Finn of Campbellsville, and Lynbree Mitchell, Tasha Mitchell, and Jamie Jeffries of Greensburg; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Magers of Campbellsville; one brother and two sisters and spouses: James Wyona Mitchell, Margaret Dowell, and Peggy Bobby Chewning of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Frances Sublett, age 83, of Regency Court, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Carl Sprowles and Maggie Spurling Sprowles, was born November 23, 1918, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:03 P.M., Friday, March 1, 2002, in Campbellsville. She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville where she taught Sunday School for twenty years and was a member of the Chancel Choir for over thirty years. She retired as a cashier from the Taylor County RECC in 1980, after more than twenty-five years of employment. She united in marriage to Richard Sublett September 6, 1942. Besides her husband Richard Sublett of Regency Court, Campbellsville, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Pirie K. and Kathy Sublett of San Diego, California; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Frances Sprowles of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Carl Sprowles in infancy. FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 5th at the Parrott Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. MABEL MARIE (PAYTON) FOX, age 73, of Finis Street, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Henry J. Payton and Birshie Edwards Payton, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 27, 1929. She died at 12:50 P.M., Monday, February 25, 2002, in Louisville. She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She united in marriage to Charles W. Fox January 3, 1959. Besides her husband, Charles Fox of Finis Street, Campbellsville, she is survived by three children and their spouses: Marie David Ratcliff of Campbellsville, Louise Jack Black of Frankfort, and Willard Brenda Claywell of Texas; three step-children and their spouses: Suzy Mark Ricketts, Larry Sharon Fox, and Russell Beverly Fox of Indiana; five grandchildren: Janice Black Tucker of Frankfort, John Black of Lawrenceburg, Keith Claywell, Brian Claywell, and Jeff Claywell of Texas; two step-grandchildren: Darin Fox and Debbie Fox of Indiana; seven great-grandchildren: Anthony Claywell, Taylor Claywell, Emily Claywell, and Jacob Claywell of Texas, Dylan Tucker and Harlee Tucker of Frankfort, and Taylor Rae Black of Lawrenceburg; one step-great-grandson, Jerry Fox of Indiana; several other relatives and many friends.
