Marlyn Shreve, 82

Mrs. Marlyn Jean Shreve of Campbellsville was born on May 29, 1937 in Taylor County to the late Willard and Ethel (Antle) Perkins. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, being 82 years, 2 months, and 1 day of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a faithful member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church. As a young lady, she married Mr. Kenneth Ray Shreve and they remained a devoted couple until his passing in October 2007.

Mrs. Shreve believed in faithfulness and hard work, and retired from the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville after 37 years of service. In 1971, she joined the Taylor County Republican Women. She served as Treasurer, Vice President, and two terms as the longest-running club President. She also served as Vice Chair for the Taylor County Republican Party, as well as being the first female elected to the Taylor County School Board.

Her most cherished position, though, was being the matriarch of a large and well-respected family. Her quiet strength and time-tested values and beliefs will live on for many generations through her children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Two children: Mark Shreve and wife Delitha, and Kathy Larimore and husband Craig, all of Campbellsville,

One sister: Freda Wilson of Campbellsville,

Six grandchildren: Shawn Shreve, Lindsey Coppock and husband Chris, Jessica Coghill and husband Tim, Leslie Newton and husband Troy, Drew Larimore, and Devin Larimore,

Nine great-grandchildren: Cearra Coppock, Deuce Shreve, Kody Coppock, Ethan Coghill, Brayden Shreve, Allee Coghill, Addie Newton, Carlie Coppock, and Owen Newton,

And a host of close friends and family.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Shreve on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Green River Memorial Baptist Church, 3441 Old Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jamie Bennett, Bro. Shawn Shreve, and Bro. Tim Coghill will be officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 9:00 AM until time for the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of Gideon Bibles or donations to the church fellowship building fund. Those can be made in person at the church during visitation, or any time at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.

Martha E. Hagan, 86

Martha E. Hagan, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Charlie and Orpha (Spears) Nevins, was born Tuesday, December 13, 1932 in Celina, Tennessee and departed this life on Monday, July 29, 2019 in Campbellsville at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab. She was 86 years, 7 months and 16 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Church of Christ.

Martha was a former factory worker and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and making curtains.

She united in marriage to George Hagan in 1954 he preceded her in death in 2016.

She is survived by two sons: George Dale Hagan and wife Linda of Louisville and Greg Hagan and wife Tonya of Campbellsville.

Five grandchildren: Renae Weddle and husband John, Amber Floyd and husband Bryant, Whitney Davis and husband John, Paula Pierce and Angie Vittitow and husband Kevin; seven great grandchildren: Logan, Zoe and Ryan Weddle, John Pierce, Luke Vittitow, Stephanie Huff and Cooper Davis; two great-great grandchildren: Ethan and Layla Huff and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings: Jack, Hubert, Cliff, Billie, Olene and Catherine.

The funeral service for Martha E. Hagan will be Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

Bro. Ralph Caudill will be officiating.

Family request visitation on Wednesday after 11:00 A.M. until time for the service.

Marilyn Landis, 53

Marilyn Rayna Landis, the daughter of the late Jimmy Roution and Lynna Beth (Kerr) Gupton was born Monday, December 13, 1965 in Campbellsville and departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in Campbellsville at her home. She was 53 years of age.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father: Bobby Gupton and a sister: April Gupton.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was a former medical billing encoder and a former employee of Intelenet. She was very crafty, enjoyed sewing, reading, playing the guitar, singing and listening to music of all kinds, she loved to dance and spend time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years: Mark Wright of Campbellsville; two daughters: Dayna Cox and husband Del, Maranda Durbin and husband Jason and Jacob Holmes and fiancé: Sarah Burris, all of Campbellsville; a brother: Michael Roution and wife Pat of Campbellsville; her step-mother: Partha Martin of Campbellsville; a special niece: Rachel Gupton of Indiana; 11 Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Marilyn Rayna Landis will be conducted Friday, July 26, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with cremation to follow.

Bro. Jason Roop will be officiating.

Family requests visitation after 2:00 P.M. on Friday until time for the service at the funeral home.

Bill Dishman, 70

Mr. Billie Joe “Bill” Dishman of Campbellsville was born on August 12, 1948 in Wayne County to the late June Toomie and Della Mae (Stinson) Dishman. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, being 70 years, 11 months, and 8 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and enjoyed attending several area churches. He was a carpenter by trade and had built several homes.
Mr. Dishman enjoyed staying active and being outdoors. He was often found piddling around a flea market, or just riding around enjoying the scenery. He was a proud lifetime member of the NRA, and loved watching his grandkids and dogs play.
He leaves to mourn his passing:
One daughter: Tena Gowen of Campbellsville,
Two grandchildren: Cheyenne and Conor Joe,
One great-grandchild,
Three siblings: Lonnie Dishman of Hodgenville, Pauline McGinnis of Campbellsville, and Grady Dishman and wife Grace of Monticello,
Special nieces: Sue Dishman, Sissy Dishman, and Brenda Despain,
Close friends: Dorothy Blevins and Carolyn Gaines,
And several other friends and family members.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Donnie Dishman, Delmar Dishman, Trammell Dishman, Betty Burnette, and Jewell Dishman.
There will be a graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Dishman on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 12:00 PM EST (11:00 AM CST) in the Dishman Cemetery, Dishman Cemetery Rd, Monticello, KY. Bro. Mike Woodrum will be officiating.

Ricky Claycomb, 50

Ricky Claycomb of Campbellsville, the son of Thomas A. Claycomb and the late Maureen (Russell) Claycomb was born Tuesday, November 26, 1968 in Fayetteville, NC and departed this life on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at his home. He was 50 years, 7 months and 9 days of age.

He was employed by Campbellsville Memorial Gardens as a maintenance worker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife: Lisa (Burton) Claycomb of Campbellsville; his father: Thomas A. Claycomb and wife Darlene of Harrodsburg; a daughter: Brittany Claycomb of Campbellsville; his mother-in-law: Sue Ann Strakal of Campbellsville; and Nicole Wright and Maddox of Mt. Sherman, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Ricky Claycomb will be conducted Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with burial to follow. Bro. Paul Dicken officiating.

There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, which can be made at the funeral home.
